| Jodi Picoult is a prolific writer of best-selling novels that deal with what Jodi calls "that solid core of family, and the knotty tangle of relationships". She had her first stories published in Seventeen magazine when she was still a student, but her early days in her career were spent doing a number of different jobs - a Wall Street technical writer, a copywriter at an ad agency, an editor at a textbook publisher, and an English teacher. She finally wrote her first novel, Songs of the Humpback Whale, when she was expecting her first child. She now has a reputation for strong stories, often on topical themes. Jodi's books:  Mercy Allie and Cameron's marriage seems solid until florist Mia drfits into town and suddenly becomes enmeshed with them both professionally and personally. This is my first Jodi Picoult novel and whilst the plot plods along slowly but surely the character portraits and both compelling and flawless.
